The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) just leveled up the kingdom’s cyber defense game with the graduation of 68 freshly trained cyber anti-fraud professionals! These digital defenders hail from SAMA, local and digital banks, and electronic wallet institutions — and they’ve just wrapped up an intense, 3-month boot camp at none other than the University of Cambridge.

This wasn’t your average classroom training. The Cyber Anti-Fraud Program (CAFP) is part of a bold national initiative by SAMA, laser-focused on sharpening the skills of Saudi talent to take on rising cyber threats head-on — threats that target both individuals and organizations.

What did the program offer? Think real-world, hands-on training grounded in SAMA’s own Counter-Fraud Framework. The curriculum tackled fraud from all angles — governance, prevention, monitoring, and response — giving participants a 360-degree view of how fraudsters operate and how to stop them in their tracks.

And to top it off, trainees got to engage directly with some of the world’s leading financial institutions and global banks, gaining insider insight into how the best in the biz fight financial crime.

With this new wave of cyber-savvy graduates, the future of fraud prevention in Saudi Arabia is looking stronger — and smarter — than ever.
